This mesmerizing exhibition will open its doors for four months, starting on November 3, 2023, turning the Bucharest Botanical Garden into a sanctuary of light and magic, providing an escape from the daily hustle and bustle for visitors of all ages.

The Garden of Lights – A World of Illuminated Stories

Illuminated gardens are true open-air masterpieces, where light and music blend to tell captivating stories. This event skillfully combines the art of light with the beauty of nature in a truly astonishing way. The “Alice in Wonderland” exhibition will run for four months, in the afternoons, including weekends and holidays. What awaits visitors is not just a light show. They will be greeted by a plethora of amazing attractions, including themed stages, artistic installations, photo spots, illuminated trees, and light and multimedia shows that will make them feel like they have truly stepped into Wonderland.

Within the exhibition, visitors will have the opportunity to encounter unforgettable characters such as Alice, the White Rabbit, the Cheshire Cat, the Caterpillar, the Mad Hatter’s tea party, and the Queen of Hearts’ castle. Additionally, the exhibition will feature Europe’s longest illuminated tunnel, with an impressive length of 200 meters and 320,000 LEDs. This tunnel will provide a genuinely memorable experience, teleporting visitors into a world of wonder.

Professor Dr. Paulina Anastasiu, the director of the “Dimitrie Brândza” Bucharest Botanical Garden, expressed her enthusiasm for hosting such a project: “We enthusiastically accepted the proposal from Garden of Lights, and we are delighted they chose the Bucharest Botanical Garden for this project. It’s an opportunity to admire the botanical garden in a different context and see how light can transform and enhance the beauty of nature.”

If you are wondering about the best time to visit this dreamlike exhibition, the answer is simple: evening or night. It’s during these hours when the darkness truly enhances the lights, creating a fairytale atmosphere.

The “Alice in Wonderland” exhibition will be open from November 3, 2023, to January 29, 2024, with a flexible schedule to accommodate various preferences:

Monday – Thursday:

  • Garden: 16:00 – 20:00
  • Ticket Office: 15:45 – 19:30

Friday – Sunday, Holidays:

  • Garden: 16:00 – 21:00
  • Ticket Office: 15:45 – 20:30

It’s important to note that the Bucharest Botanical Garden will be closed on December 24, 2023, and December 31, 2023.
